  &quot;Is that even a pizza?&quot; <br>Well, you see, the answer to that can be phrased as &quot;Yesn&apos;t&quot;. <br>The reason being, in ye olden days, italian word &quot;pizza&quot; was basically a synonym for &quot;pie&quot;, or at least some specific range of pies (look at modern day names &quot;strudel&quot;, &quot;pierogi/pirogi&quot;, &quot;lattice&quot;, &quot;tart&quot; which are all names for variable pastries as example). It took multiple centuries up until ~XVIII century for pizza to evolve into the flat crust with toppings we know today.

  Random autism tangent: the T-Rex at Chicago is named Sue, is the most complete t-Rex skeleton we currently have, and makes for a fantastic zombie mount (as long as you know polka).

  Max has a video on Chicago deep dish, or if you want things that resemble actual modern pizza a video on school lunch pizza, and actually just did a video on margherita pizza last week

  he had a recent (May 2026?) video on &apos;margerita pizza&apos; that went deep into pizza history in Naples (not all of it was nice history, though...street food in hot weather...hmm)

  Reading some history books I found the most stereotypical Italian names, in ancient Rome -- Vinnius and Antonius Maximus. Vinny and Big Tony.
