His name is William Apostle and he plays mandolin, banjo and guitar. An Aunt started calling him Billy Strings because he could play anything with strings.  That group is a std bluegrass ensemble, all very talentd

Huge Billy Strings fan here. I love that you guys are open enough to listen to music from different genres and give it an honest chance. These guys are top tier musicians I can't wait to see them in person the first chance I get. Have you ever thought about how much this band jams with ZERO drums? Amazing.

Congratulations!  You've discovered Billy Strings!  I love Billy's voice, his stage presence, and that he actually loves what he does.

Ok. Billy wrote this when he and his brother were in an argument. His brother is 4 years older than Billy. Billy was 2 and his brother was 6 when their dad OD’d on H. His mom remarried and his stepdad taught Billy bluegrass guitar. He said his mom was like a hippie and loved Pearl Jam and smoked weed cleaning house. But later both his parents got strung out on meth. That’s the past I feel sure he sings about here. He moved out at 13, no clue when his brother got out. Parents later got sober but relapsed. Mom died of a meth overdose last summer.

he has won several Grammys as a bluegrass, America singer song writer.. I discovered him via Pearl Jam . billy is a huge fan of PJ and covers them also, and he played at Eddie vedders festival ( Ohana), and we were blown away.  he was on before Jack White, it was amazing hearing so much great guitar during those two sets.

Check out the video "The Devil went down to Deep Gap", The song is a spoof of "devil went down to Georgia" in the way Weird Al does mockups. It is Billy and Brian Sutton and a few more really good bluegrass players. It will say on the video page the full line up. You might like it cause the cartoon of the people is very funny and the Billy character is fairly accurate. Thanks for another awesome live Billy Jam. You guys should see them do the cover of Black Sabbaths "War Pigs", or Pink Floyds "Fearless". Also, another one person to check out is Molly Tuttle.
