  One of my favourite jokes maybe ever is where in the last episode of Aunty donnas big ol house of fun there is the reveal of a live audience that has been here the whole show but just has never once laughed

  That Fast Show clip you used as the example of sketch comedy using laugh tracks is probably the greatest laugh track recording in history. Peaks the microphones to hell until it just sounds like tortured screams, absolutely perfect

  I&apos;m glad you acknowledged the &quot;sitcom with laugh track removed&quot; videos because I don&apos;t think enough people realise that it&apos;s not awkward because the jokes were poorly written, it&apos;s because actors pausing to let the audience laugh when there is no laughter is awkward.<br>Jokes being poorly written is a separate issue.

  iirc, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! has an exclamation point instead of a question mark because it was considered bad luck to have a question mark in a title at the time. It&apos;s the same reason for &quot;Who Framed Roger Rabbit!&quot;

  Bizarrely, and I think largely by accident, one of the most effective cases of a modern &quot;laugh track&quot; has gotta be in Dropout shows. On things like Make Some Noise, which are filmed live but with a more lowkey production, you can clearly hear the crew laughing in the background, and it has the same effect as a laugh track or live studio audience but feels way more authentic. Turns out, the remedy was going from a studio full of hundreds of people watching to a room of like, 10 lol
