This Is One of the Scariest Warnings in the Quran | Ustadh Mohamad Baajour What happens when a person forgets Allah? In this powerful reminder, Ustadh Mohamad Baajour reflects on one of the most frightening warnings in the Quran: “And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves.” Surah Al-Hashr 59:19 A person may remember their name, career, responsibilities and everything happening around them, yet forget the most important thing of all: why they were created. We can become busy building careers while neglecting our relationship with Allah, preparing for retirement while forgetting the grave, and chasing temporary happiness while our hearts remain empty. The Prophet ﷺ compared the one who remembers Allah and the one who does not to the living and the dead. This reminder explores the danger of ghaflah (heedlessness), becoming comfortable with sin, losing our purpose, and why no amount of dunya can replace a genuine connection with Allah. But there is also hope. No matter how far we have gone, the door of repentance remains open. Allah is not asking us for perfection. He is asking us to turn back to Him. May Allah protect us from heedlessness, keep our hearts alive with His remembrance, forgive our sins, and grant us true success in the Hereafter.
