It makes sense why Mario Kart 7 demo had so much inspiration from Mario Kart Wii as that the Wii game was literally used as a test for the 3DS prototypes

Learning about the 3DS early demos/builds is always so fascinating to me! I’m glad we're now able to see a lot of early 3DS content that was once considered lost!

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFRsYoM7SmM&t=410">6:50</a> the foliage and trees aren't just unpolished, they're DRASTICALLY different compared to the final which went for the normal design we saw throughout the series. You can tell they were experimenting with the art style quite a bit before they normalized into what we have now.

There's a lot of text in the games files, including dialogue from Isabelle. She also greeted the player with an additional character who she names as "XXX". It's not known who this would have been, though. There's also a bunch of additional flower textures, test models, and unseen stuff. I actually showed these off today, there's a lot of models not seen in the build! If you want my documents for the datamine, let me know!

The 3DS was revolutionary dude. I still got mine from when I was a kid. I love how modable they are too and the history of them like the demos! AMAZING vid again chilly thank u for this :D

Funny thing with Rock Rock Mountain: Remnants of that cut alternate path are still there in the final track layout (the path that leads nowhere beneath the glider section), we just had no idea it was a full alternate route until the build leaked. Oddly funny to me that it was there the whole time and no one ever questioned it.
