  I shit you not, two weeks ago I was put into a medically induced coma for a week because I had gone into septic shock from an infected bone from an infected wound. It was the second coma I’d been in in my life. This time I woke up, head turned to mush for a bit, and half of my right leg was gone. I’m currently at a rehab center relearning how to transfer and function again (I was already disabled and use a wheelchair and have had 14 surgeries in my 34 years) but I can say I have woken up from a coma twice!

  My dad was hit by a car at 16 and was in a coma for 3 months, he ended up having part of his brain removed to reduce swelling strain on it. When he woke he was told he’d never walk, talk or function on his own again. After years of physical therapy he finally regained his ability to walk and even more so, went on to work and provide for my family for 18 years. Now he’s 53 (I’m 24) and he’s ability is declining again. He’s had to have emergency surgery on his spine and the doctors say he’s in Cognitive decline. But I’m so proud of him. He went through all that and raised a family. I’m almost convinced he did it out of sheer spite lol<br>My dads a miracle and I just wanted to share his story

  imagine you survived a traumatic event that kills most, you recover fully and are almost ready to return to normal life. and then you get slapped with a medical bill that&apos;s quintuple your worth

  One of my uncles was in a very short term coma from an OD. My dad stayed in his room and read him Huckleberry Finn so he would have some stimuli. Doc told my dad that he could still hear what was happening around him so it would be beneficial. When he finally came to he was convinced he and my dad went rafting down a river

  This reminds me of the story of my old English teacher.<br>About 10 years ago, he fell off a ten story balcony and went into a coma for months. He broke multiple bones and was told he would never wake up, then sit up, so on and so forth. He made a full recovery however, and is able to walk perfectly fine with a bit of a limp to this day.<br>He’s a very lovely man and an excellent teacher.
