  I live in Bat Cave,  NC.     We  were hit hard.  I sadly watch most of my neighbors homes float down our usually 1 foot river.   To my surprise my neighbors whose houses survived,    the very next day they had to walk for miles to get food.  I was prepared and the neighbors who actually made fun of me for being prepared were knocking on my door for food, water and gas.

  Experience makes "perfect."  Everyone can improve on prepping.  It just takes a lot of foresight and thought.  Great video!

  Thank you for sharing.  Being able to reflect on how to improve our plan is a big.  How water is more than a luxury and moral booster - it's good hygiene.  Look into recycled 50gal plastic drums or IBC tank to harvest rain water. With a rocket stove you can have endless hot water using twigs and trash.

  People need to prepare now and not wait until the next hurricane season. You never know what might happen or when. <br>We lost power today. The weather was fine. Maybe a car crash? Who knows. It only lasted an hour, so no big deal, but you just never know.

  I live west of Asheville. &nbsp;A solar generator really made life easy. &nbsp;I&apos;m amazed how far the technology in solar and battery storage has advanced. &nbsp;I&apos;m now hooked on battery powered chainsaws. &nbsp;If things go bad for a prolonged period of time, solar gives almost unlimited power to a chainsaw. &nbsp;With a chainsaw, you can not only clear roads, but stay warm, make lumber for building. &nbsp;A good battery powered chainsaw with solar can get you through a lot.

  You actually brought up a great point without &nbsp;commenting. Talking with your neighbor. Making a plan before having to cut trees. Mosst prepers seems to think a shuteout will be ongoing instead of shareing a beer after chainsawing all day around som burning brush.

  A lot of metal gas cans sold today are made of Chinesium beer can metal. The real stuff is expensive!

  one lesson a learned and something to change, i think instead of donating money to charity regularly, it’s wise to just buy emergency supplies little by little for purposes of donating in a disaster. they’re gonna be needed somewhere, it’s just a matter of time. if you already have them, then you don’t have to guy buy items that are in short supply right after a disaster. just load up the supplies and take it to the folks in need
