This has always fascinated me. The split between Judah And Israel after King Solomon. Jesus first revealed who he was to a Samaritan Woman.

Many Samaritans indeed left, but went extinct in Syria and Egypt due to religious persecutions by the Muslim rulers. the only community that survived are the one that remained in Israel, and also that by the skin of their teeth. almost got extinct in 1840 when the Ulama of Nablus questioned their status as people of the book, and therefore argued they need to convert or die.
the Jewish Rabbi at the time, Hakham Bashi Chaim Abraham Gagin, who decreed that the Samaritans are “a branch of the children of Israel, who acknowledge the truth of the Torah," and as such should be protected as a "People of the Book".

it happened again, when Isaac Ben Zvi concentrated them in Holon to keep them as a people and a culture.

luckily they didn't go extinct, and kept their culture to our days.

Current orthodox Jews saying Samaritans are mixed blood is the funniest thing ever. 😂

Samaritan people are the living proof of Israel connection to the Biblical land. They are complementing each other for their existence through out the historical age.
