Thank you for being really nice and kind about my country, 🇬🇧 with all the chaos that's going on around the world right now, it's really refreshing to hear people being nice and kind, ❤

I'm in London right now. Always elated when I'm on a plane to here. A premier city. What New York wishes it was.

Amazing, Part 2 was better than Part 1. Thank you for recommending the Churchill War Rooms. I worked there for 10 years before I retired 12 years ago. They are part of the Imperial War Museums family of Museums. I got to work at all of them over a span of 35 years before retiring 12 years ago. HMS Belfast, Duxford Airfield Cambridgeshire, IWM North in Salford Quays Manchester, IWM London, and of course the Churchill War Rooms. Every one of them is worth a visit.

"Class solidarity"! Exactly! That's the thing about the US I've never quite been able to put my finger on! Brilliant!

Probably one of the best US Vs UK podcasts I've seen. Very observant, well thougtout, eloquent, and intelligent, seeing cultural differences from both sides of the pond. Would love to see more colabs with you both, perhaps a social history podcast.
So enjoyable it's worth a second viewing of both vids.

Mum told me about the blitz in London.
She was evacuated to Wales but she kept running away,so was returned to London. And she told me how school carried on even if the roof was missing.
The smell of cordite in the morning was a constant.
it was just her and her mum, spending nights in the underground and on three occasions they came up to to find they had there home have been blown up.
But she said the worst was the V1 she and her mum were in Camden when one exploded, then the engine stopped you ran for cover and hoped for the best. She was so matter of fact about.Tough as old boots was that generation.

That was a great conversation ladies. My grandad came home on leave at the start of the war to find his house and most of the street flattened by German bombs, for a few hours he thought his family had been killed until he found them sheltering in a church.
