  If SEGA wants to keep going with the open zone style of gameplay, I think cityscapes are the instant answer to quell the Zelda comparisons. Nintendo has been trying city exploration in 3D with Pokemon but that hasn't gone so well. It's a clear blind spot.

  I wish Sega cultivated their IPs like Nintendo does, even back during their heyday during the MegaDrive. I mean Ristar could have become their Kirby but no they dropped it after one single game (+ a handheld port/version).

  Would&apos;ve been cool to get a mention of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, the murder mystery visual novel they let a bunch of employees throw together that was genuinely awesome.<br><br>I&apos;m a big fan of Nintendo&apos;s aesthetic but hard agree on their game design feeling like they&apos;re talking down to you. They&apos;re so against giving the player options. That said, Echoes of Wisdom is a good time if you ever get around to your list. Not just more of the same like the others.

  Every Time I think of Sega as:<br>Fighter: Virtua Fighter<br>Racing?: Daytona USA (there is also Virtua Race, Sega Rally, Scud race)<br>Puzzle?: Puyo Puyo (Nintendo does have panel de pon, but decided to use yoshi instead)<br>RPG?: Fantasy Star<br>Rythm?: Samba de Amigo<br><br>Also you have more arcade titles like<br>Monkey ball<br>Nights into dreams<br>Yakuza<br>Persona <br>monkeyball<br><br>It is true that Sega has been dormant for a while on these franchises, but they seem to have &nbsp;just very recently realized that as they initiated a project to revive them, either by doing remakes or doing sequels.<br>Like the mildly recent Monkey ball remakes and now with the Crazy Taxi sequel

  This is interesting timing because something that I&apos;ve been thinking about a lot lady and have been making a post is that it&apos;s really fascinating of how like technically limited Marios like cast of characters are and yet not only is Mario himself in so many different genres, including three award-winning RPG series, but that many of his side characters have their own beloved award-winning spin-offs like the Yoshi platformer games, the Donkey Kong countries Luigi&apos;s Mansion series, and very recently even creates his Peach and the Toads.<br><br>Meanwhile, not only is Sonic extremely anemically limited to certain genres for some reason, but he has this huge cast of belovediverse characters and yet outside of technically Shadow that Hedgehog and one time back in the &apos;90s when they put tails on the handheld and Knuckles on an add-on console, they don&apos;t do anything with them to make them their own impressive fan series. <br><br>Like where is my Amy Rose puzzle platforming cutesy game for babies and girls? Where is my Silver The Hedgehog series where I&apos;m playing in an open world and using his psychic power is to do crazy physic shit to solve issues that the player has to be really creative to do? Where is my s. Tails game where I get to build my own mini robot army and command them around like Pikmin to fight Eggman&apos;s machines?<br><br>And to me where it really smacked me in the face was when I saw the trailer for Donkey Kong Bananza which I absolutely love but the entire time the back of my head was screaming. Oh my God, this would have been the perfect gameplay for a Knuckles solo game. Imagine hunting for Master Emerald shards and other treasures using digs and punches just like Donkey Kong does in his new mini sandbox type game. That would have been perfect for that character and yet Sega is both too afraid and creatively bankruptc to even try something like that.<br><br>It&apos;s absolutely mattening once you think about how much potential is a constantly left on the table with the series.
