Most Muslims in the Indian subcontinent are descendants of people who converted to Islam over the centuries, often under complex social and political conditions. During the Mughal period, many conversions occurred due to religious pressure, heavy taxation such as the jizya, and discrimination faced for being Hindu. Many Muslims today still carry surnames like Rajput, Chaudhary, Bhatt, or Patel, reflecting their ancestral roots in the region’s pre-Islamic past.

When I became head of dept of jpmch karachi I was called Kafirr. Stayed sahibh jpmch director called me at wisky party and asked me why I don't pass the bills and he is losing his portion of revenues.when he left he put islam at 7 kirore loss in 1988. When I left for London I have to borrow money to buy ticket for UK.
