Disappointed it took 4 days for this to get recommended to me. As a long time Beta Minecraft player and creator happy to give you some useful tips. For example breaking blocks such as a crafting table, fences, soulsand, stairs etc with a sword is actually faster than an axe/shovel.
11:13 there are stone buttons crafted with two smooth stone, one on top of the other.
12:53 If you kill a sheep and then shear it during its death animation you can get much more wool per sheep (You found this later)
13:43 if you put fences under farmland you and any mobs, cant trample the farmland
17:43 Armour protection is tied to the durability of the armour. Lether armour protects you the exact same as diamond armour if theyre both at full, its just that diamond lasts longer. Most people in the old minecraft community agree armour is practically useless, especially diamond armour. If you really want to wear it though Iron is the most cost effective. (You found this later)
26:34 This does work for pistons
34:04 There is a flower "Farm" you can make where if you make a 7x7 room with grass as the floor, and you make it pitch black, you can bonemeal the ground and all of the grass and flowers will break off into item form automatically. (You worked this out later)
35:48 Big fan of infinity lit furnaces, good addition
41:19 I intentionally use this glitch all the time to auto walk places

I really enjoyed this video. It was great to see your dedication to the world and you made some really cool stuff.

Nice video. I wanted to give some tips

Natural light is always the most effective. Try to use sunlight in builds.

Some blocks are broken faster when using a sword.

The main focus of this version is its simplicity and calmness. Don't try to rush for no reason.

Place fences below farmland to make the farmland indestructible

When making builds, you don't need to plan it out much. Just build and see what happens.

You can shear sheep after killing them for an extra 1 wool

There's a glitch called "Block Transmutation". You can use that to get some glitched blocks. The most common example is the Stone Slab (Smooth Stone Slab) without a line in the middle. You can also break them and they will keep their properties.

Creepers will charge towards you instead of staying in place when about to explode.

Buttons are crafted from 2 stone

Medieval builds look nice in this version

You can use websites like plotz to generate spheres etc.

Zombie pigmen drop cooked porkchops.

Uncrouching at the edge of a block will make you fall.

Biscuits (Cookies) stack up to 8, but cocoa beans can only be found in dungeon chests.

Breaking an instabreak block with a tool will lower your tools durability.

Spiders can only hit you when they are jumping.

Most tools in Beta 1.7.3 have lower durability compared to modern.

Golden Apples are the most valuable food item. They can not be crafted because apples are unobtainable. They heal you to maximum health and are very rare. If you find one, I recommend you store it somewhere.

You can save time mining blocks using click mining. Click mining is where you release and re-press the left click button when you finish mining a block.

If lava flows into water, they will be able to touch without turning into stone or obsidian.

Netherrack is a great alternative to bricks sometimes.

If you're about to drown, make an air pocket. Even half a second will refill your air.

You can switch the item you're holding while breaking stuff to preserve durability. This can be used alongside the sword tip.

Also a fun fact, you will always spawn on sand in this version.

Honestly, you might want to take a look at the modpack "Beta Unleashed" to fix a few of the annoyances you dealt with in this video like certain blocks taking forever to mine. It doesn't add anything content-wise, but a majority of the Beta Minecraft youtubers use it. I think Mongster has a video on things it changes and how to install it? Definitely worth looking into I'd say!

If you’re trying to build with a Greco-Roman style, I recommend researching the column proportions as they have set size ratios. For example a Doric column is about 1:7 diameters times the base, so a column 2 blocks wide would be about 14 blocks high. An ionic column is about 1:8 & a Corinthian column is about 1:9. These are Greek columns, the romans made their own as well and more have been made since then but these are what mostly are used. The proportions aren’t a strict rule and there have been examples of different proportions made by the Greeks and Romans with these designs but these ratios are a good guide based on the average from different ruins or intact structures.

I'm so used to watching people who, like me, grew up with the earlier versions of Minecraft and are able to enjoy it partially through a nostalgic bent. So it's legitimately refreshing to see someone who doesn't have that kind of experience with alpha and beta playing and figuring out how to enjoy the old versions!

And specifically I appreciate hearing the things that you don't necessarily like, like the stairs not being able to be placed upside down, food not stacking, the lack of options around slabs, and general boat weirdness.

But you also don't diss it, or call it boring, or spend the whole video complaining. You made a lot of cool builds, including farms, took your time to figure out how to get around the limitations of the old mechanics, and made a really interesting video that left me feeling like you took the time to genuinely appreciate the old game even if it's not your favorite! You still figured out your own goals and made your own fun, which is what old Minecraft was all about when the only "progression" was to find diamonds and build a Nether portal.

I would genuinely love to see more of this world if you have any interest in continuing to play it. And if not, thanks for such an awesome video. Ciao!
