I think this is more than just the money. Maybe the caller is fed up seeing a sibling get away with stuff all the time.

You can't control what other people do. You can only control how you react.

Walking away from family drama - priceless. Start your own new legacy with your children.

Just be clear to your parents that if they blow all their money on the brother, you will not be there to bail them out after he has sucked them dry

Parents can light their fortune on fire, and smile while they do it, and there's nothing you can do bro. Just suck it up, its never changing. Build your own empire, one brick at a time.

When the parents are gone only one of these brothers will survive.

The story of the prodigal son was a lesson about the brother who stayed and worked. Jealousy and anger will get you no where.

He can see his parents asking him for money to give to his brother. That’s what I got from this call.

I've experienced something similar - my very intelligent brother with a college degree proceeded to stick with restaurant work and drugs, rather than be a responsible adult. Our mom paid bills for him, bought cars for him, paid his rent and even guilted me into renting a rental property to him. After she died, we split her estate evenly, per her will. I could be resentful over this or grateful to God that we've made better choices and haven't had to rely on largesse. We chose the latter.

Hey brother, it's not your money. You don't have agency over what your parents choose to do with their money. Stop focusing on other people and focus on you and your family. You're k!lling it and on the road to wealth. You can't control others, so just do you. You're full of integrity. Your brother isn't. I'd rather be you than him.
