Even though the game was played 36 years ago and I know who’s going to win………. I still really enjoy watching all of these guys play the game.  The way it should be played.

The Celtics started 29-5 that season.  Then Bird’s back gave out.

Starting the season 0-3 only to come back to win your first-ever NBA title in the end. Impressive.

2 three point attempts were taken in this entire game...by both teams combined.

Even though the two didn’t matchup in the playoffs after 1987, it would have been an awesome one. Most likely goes the full distance, 5/7 games. They were still pretty evenly matched, even though Chicago was ascending and Boston retooled had a great combination of veterans to go along with the younger talent (Lewis, Brown, etc) coming in…Celtics were seemingly on a collision course to meet Chicago in the postseason for eastern supremacy. Bird is only a step slower, yet still very effective when he’s on the court. Reggie is also coming along so well that Boston was looking prime for years to come, even after bird was to retire. RIP Reggie.

The last of the three-game losing streak the Bulls had during their initial Championship season, one of the other two was also on TNT at home.

To think that this was the last time that decade Chicago would lose 3 in a row.
