  I have been no contact with my mom for a few months now. It’s definitely not a flex it’s just a fact. Loving from a distance and preserving my peace has been good for me. Salute for your courage.

  This reflection was incredibly healing, validating, and liberating to witness. As a Christian navigating similarly strained familial relationships, I wish the Church was more straightforward about teaching how forgiveness is not equal to reconciliation, and how the former does not necessitate the latter. Thank you for sharing your story with vulnerability and authenticity. My inner child really needed to hear this! Much respect🙏🏾

  More Black ppl need to unpack the abuse from their moms, especially Blk men. In the Black community we face so much guilt for saying our mom's are wrong

  I can relate! I had to go no contact with my mom off and on for years at a time until she passed. We were on when she passed away but still... She was a narcissist. PROTECT YOUR PEACE AT ALL COST! SAD BUT TRUE! I salute you! You have a wonderful beautiful family and you're an excellent dad!🫡

  Wow, this was definitely your ministry. That's the only way to make the trauma valuable. You parent so well it's amazing! You turned your trauma into being the parent that you needed and wanted. I'm so proud of you brother. If you hadn't told this story we could have never seen that you had parental trauma.
