JLR profit last year £2.6 Billion. Why on earth is UK taxpayer money being used to assist a private business that has this insane profitability?

Having spent my entire life in IT and more than two decades as an SAP consultant I have no sympathy for companies that put in IT systems then refuse to maintain them to a high standard knowing they are putting profits over workers livelihoods.

The biggest scam here is TATA not bailing out JLR themselves. These companies and breaking the UK down bit by bit.

TATA owned the steel works in Port Talbot and got bail out after bail out, as soon as they stopped bailing them they closed it down and left the country. tough spot to put any community in, but TATA should be held responsible for these costs not the UK people. thats how they've amassed such wealth

No surprise JLR systems were HACKED. Their owners Tata Steel also run an IT management company . Our company used Tata’s IT management company (TCS) as it would save a lot of money. What a mistake that was, that decision, made by the previous senior management team, has cost our company millions over a very painful five years. The new team have slowly started to bring the IT management back in house. I wonder who managed JLR’s IT systems? Hopefully other UK company’s will stop and think before considering off-shoring their IT management.

A few things you should know, JLR got rid of their IT very recently and outsourced it India - That company in india has been linked to other hacks. JLR cheaped out on their INFOSec. They are not struggling financially but their supply chain is. JLR shouldn't be bailed out the supply chain should.
