My favorite series!! Doug, you have cornered the market in the area of sermon critiques. Keep up the good work.

Funny. I read Tactics as a Christian. Now that I'm learning about Street Epistemology I immediately made the connection to the book, especially the "columbo tactic". Asking questions seemed great, but I couldn't help but feel like the tactic was kind of cheeky: overwhelm, control the conversion, steer it to the conclusion you want. Many of the anecdotes in the book culminated in a "gotcha", or a philosophical trap. SE is about the method, not the conclusion, and seems to foster more open dialogue.

Asking questions helps us all reason together…and that’s important.

Love these! Whenever I get dragged to church I'm always reminded why I gave up faith.

I lived in Alaska when I was younger. In search of truth I left North Pole in September of 1994 and drove my motorcycle to I believe Skagway, can't remember exactly, and took the ferry to Washington, where I went to Bible college. On the way down I wondered if God was real. Over the years I have experience so many amazing things that now I am convinced of the truth of God and the Bible. That's part of my experience. Believe it or not.

Street Epistemology CAN BE a strategic method. Theists and atheists are
the strategists, and they can both use SE to their own purposes by
selecting questions. But THERE IS NOTHING BIASED ABOUT THE METHOD
ITSELF.
Truth seekers and game players can both use SE. Absolutely
all of the criticisms (that I'm aware of) of SE are criticisms of the
game players. And when they pretend not to have an agenda they deserve
it. All apologists (for ANY worldview) are game players. Koukl
epitomizes game players.

When Greg said putting a stone in your shoe to get you thinking, as he has said it before, it means to make you question your assumptions.

I didn't realize that SE had gotten big enough to have detractors. Kudos to all!
