Dreamcast just feels cozy and warm and I don't know how to elaborate on that.

Dreamcast released at a time when generational leaps in compute power, and home arcade ports were still fascinating.

The 6th generation will always be my favorite. I still have all 4 systems from that generation, and it’s the generation I bought the most games from. These days I can barely get 10 😬. The Sega Dreamcast was inundated with so many fighting games (most from Capcom) and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention I’m an avid fighting game fan. That was such a time to be alive.

They were too early to the party. You never wanna be too early.

I still love Dreamcast's old TV ads. Just the right amount of cheese, edge and spice.

For me, it’s all about MSR Metropolitan Street Racing and JetSet Radio in terms of that Dreamcast feel and aesthetic.

My favorite thing about the Dreamcast is that there’s a huge community dedicated to it to this day. I love that fans got a working ports of GTA 3 and GTA Vice City working on Dreamcast hardware. I’m 100% sure if the Dreamcast hadn’t met its early demise, Sega would have put out a revised controller with two analog sticks and shoulder buttons.

It is fascinating that as Americans, our biggest tie to the past is ways we used to be sold products. Like there’s an overly meta commentary there somewhere here.
