The noise inside the internet cafe was soothing to me. I would have no problem sleeping with that as background noise.

I visited an internet cafe in Japan that had a low level table and padded floor to sit on, made lying down much more comfortable. It was also pretty dark and quiet at night.

I’ve noticed in my time in Japan that so much is focused on being “away” from your home. You’d be surprised how long people can be at places like this away from home. I’m talking weeks.

Japan MUST be the most civilized place on Earth... I'd love to live there but it's almost impossible for an outsider to gain permanent residency. I think those two things are connected.
