  The painting perishing in a fire is sad but also strangely symbolic and fitting to what it was trying to convey - nothing escapes death, not even art.

  I interpreted the mass of bodies behind Higiea to represent the suffering, deaths and sacrifices involved that lead us to medicine, all of them flowing into her cup. &nbsp;People died eating a mushroom for others to learn that it&apos;s poisonous.

  I mean...we are powerless to death, with or without medicine. Medicine has made that transition to death with less pain, but not avoided. That was such a beautiful painting. And so sad for its loss.

  Interestingly on the evening of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, two days after this video was uploaded, a Klimt portrait was sold at Sotheby’s in NYC for a record $236M - the most expensive work of modern art ever sold at auction. What a loss to the world the work featured in this video truly is.

  The title “philosophy” suits the theme of the painting because in ancient Hellas the word philosophy had two meanings one of which was the study of death.

  I prefer the 2017 human attempt at recreating Medicine by Factum Arte, over the A.I. version, personally. It seems to reflect the feeling which Klimt expresses in his other works, much better.
