  Once a young boy teasingly said to his friend &quot; these girls take up a degree only to print in their invitation&quot;. <br>I am a stay at home Mom with a Masters degree. And I am happy to raise my child with all the attention I could pour on him , take rest, &nbsp;and explore my hobbies and interests. It&apos;s a blessing. My education helps me to run my family efficiently in another state. I feel like the ceo of my home&apos;s finance, nutrition, primary education, hospitality, health , Personal assistant to a working man and what not. Our education helps us to multi task . Home making with and without education would make a world of its own difference.<br><br>I told him...&quot;aama da , house wife aagarathukagave mattum kuda padipom .   Most wanted topic and boost to all homemakers who are asked all the time not only by parents/relatives but also by Indian community in the US. When I meet an Indian woman the first question they ask is &quot;Are you working?&quot;

  My opinion on this is that if the wife is not financially independent and &nbsp;if your marriage doesn’t work out then you’re stuck in a bad situation. It’s very important to have options if things don’t work out. I’m super glad that things worked out for Sain but I see so many wives putting up with soft and hard abuse as they don’t have many choices. Independence for most women starts with gaining recognition and respect outside the family. And slowly her family will see her than just a home maker and respect her.

  Also no one speaks about the tiredness and exhaustion after work and the stress involved in trying to meet the expectations of the job. Plus managing the household and kids after work impacts on the health of the women.

  This topic is excellent and absolutely needed. Not just parents and relatives, nobody should ask others why they are pursuing a career or why they chose to stay at home raising their children and not pursue a career, when they are are going to have children or other intrusive questions. It is no one&apos;s business but the individua&apos;s or the couple&apos;s. Give advice if asked, otherwise keep your mouth shut. One important consideration is to make sure that finances are well managed and there is is adequate rainy day resource, in case, &nbsp;sole &nbsp;breadwinner families encounter job loss or serious illness.
