  My uncle is a hoarder and no one knew until two years ago because he always showed up to events, he never hosted them and he always dresses really nice but when confronted about it he acted like it was just a tiny mess that got out of hand. Mental health issues and denial are scary when you see it up close, his huge apartment looked just as bad as these houses.

  I saw an episode with a woman whose adult kids weren&apos;t even trying to help her clean. The house was inspected, and deemed a hazard to live in. They were trying to convince her to move. They even bought her a brand new, beautiful house, but she refused to leave her filthy house. What&apos;s crazy is that, apparently, when they were children, their mother would NEVER keep anything dirty. They talked about getting punished time after time for not cleaning their rooms. How do you go from clean freak, to being a disgusting hoarder?
