The film also reveals the great conflict with Henry Clay Frick, the behind-the-scenes story of the sale of the century—the transaction with John Pierpont Morgan that created the world's first billion-dollar corporation—and the last eighteen years of Carnegie's life, when he gave away some $350 million: over $2,500 libraries on four continents, thousands of church organs, universities, research institutes, the Heroes' Fund, and the Peace Palace in The Hague. A separate section is devoted to the fate of Polish and Eastern European immigrants who worked the hardest jobs in Carnegie's steel mills.
