  The captain of the boat at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ygenQFJ28&amp;t=1040">17:20</a> put on an impressive display of timing, waiting for just the right moment to use full throttle, then paused again, then &nbsp;powered out into clear water. &nbsp;Great ability to read the waves.

  Another important safety lesson: The boat at the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95ygenQFJ28&amp;t=600">10:00</a> mark where they&apos;re looking to get out of it. You NEVER want to be on the side of the boat opposite of where the waves are hitting it. In this case it&apos;s the starboard side of the boat, where the beach is. This is because the waves can easily pick the boat up and drop it right on top of you, pinning you under the water. Not to mention getting slammed/crushed by the boat as well. And you certainly wouldn&apos;t want to try and just exit off the back because you could get crushed between the boat and the rocks. Plus those rocks are going to be extremely slippery. That&apos;s a rough situation all around, but I would think the ideal place to try and exit would be off the port bow if possible. They would just have to be careful to not break a leg or ankle since it&apos;s going to be very shallow there. That situation is much more dangerous for them than it may appear. Hope they got out okay.
