  can you imagine being cursed and the ONLY thing that would lift it is a cricket shooting a rocket at you, and you spend years just accepting the fact that that shit will never happen to you. and then you get abducted by a bunch of tiny men and are forced to fight and in the distance you see a cricket with a firework.  can you imagine how much you’d be sweating

  Imma be honest, having the cure for the curse being something so specific is actually pretty in line for old fairy tales. One of the old versions of Frog Prince I read needed, not a kiss, but for the princess to throw the frog into a wall with the intention to kill him. A fox needed his head and feet to be cut off. A lot of curses are actually undone by death. I don’t think any lesson was meant for the curse undoing, fae just did crud.

  I imagine “cricket fires a rocket at you” could be a real when pigs fly kinda statement.<br><br>In a community where fireworks/rockets are the main method of celebration, and crickets are known to be bad shots or hate rockets in some way, it seems a very fitting “never gonna happen”ism.
