Edward Kenway is next...apologies for the massive delay. as luck would have it i was recovering from a pretty serious car crash that had me out for about 2 weeks. Feeling better, somewhat back to normal hopefully my recovery keep going positively. In the meantime, who else we gonna cover?

Max Payne 3 is probably one of the most misunderstood and unique sequels ever made. It was such a radical departure from the rest of the series that it got a mixed reception when it came out, but has only aged like fine wine.

I saw another comment on a similar video of Max Payne 3 that I think sums up Passos's role perfectly: He initially had no problem going along with Victor and Marcelo's plan and letting the wealth consume him. But seeing the dead yacht-goers in Panama and meeting Giovanna made him re-evaluate what was important to him. To add onto that comment, when Passos says they "pressured me into doing it", he probably means that he tried to back out of the plot, but Victor threatened to have Giovanna killed if he did. Passos likely left Max behind not because he didn't care about him, but because he was aware that Giovanna was pregnant and wanted to get her to safety as fast as possible. I think he does genuinely care for Max's well-being, like when he patches him up in the stadium and later shoots Neves to save his life. In my opinion, Passos is a good guy who got influenced by the wrong people, and I think he redeemed himself by coming back for Max and saving him from what would've been a suicide mission.

One of the funny thing about the gameplay and story difference in max payne 3 is that the moment you lose control of Max he is gonna fail, get disarmed, alert people what have you, but the story still make it clear you did kill all those people that wasn't jsut gameplay. So basically the player is Max instnct kicking in as we are more attached to live than he is. The closest Max come back from being the avenging angel by himself and not player actions is not even fabiana it's the organ harvesting ring where he truly go on offense thanks to Da Silva, asking him to tell him where to go and he'll do the rest

It’s ashame this game didn’t sell as much as they spent on it. This is one of my favourite games and the fact not many people know about it is insane considering how good the story is and the messsged it presents.

He didn't lose EVERYTHING. The Payne Family was lost, sure, but think about everything else: He stopped a shady organization from forcing super soldier drugs into the streets. Stopped a shady ex-illuminati from ruling New York as a crime lord and he pretty much single handedly got rid of Sao Paolo's ugliest thing: greedy politicians. Max is so caught up in self hatred for letting his wife and daughter die he doesn't even acknowledge how many other families he saved
