Best golf interview on YouTube.

Next interview should be Player, Watson, Trevino and Nicklaus before it's too late.

I was a Greenkeeper at The Belfry for the 1985 Ryder Cup.
I was there for 1985, 1989, 1993 Ryder Cups.
The 1985 I was cutting greens 5, 9, 18, and the putting green.
On the practice days I remember I was in a buggy with Derek Ganning, my boss who was the Belfry Course Manager and we were on the 7th par 3 and Seve was practicing there.
Seve spoke with my boss and said are you lowering the greens cut height ready for the tournament and my boss said yes today.
Seve said no, leave the height as it is as the greens are running at 10.5 on the stimp metre and that’s perfect as the USA like faster greens so leave them at 10.5.
Later that day Tony Jacklin came down to the GreenKeeping sheds and spoke with Derek and said leave the green speed and height of cut as Seve asked you to.
This was the best Ryder Cup of the 3 for me as a Greenkeeper working at The Belfry.
I wish we had iPhones then as I was lucky to spend a lot of time talking to players of the European and the USA Team especially early in the morning on the putting green before the first matches went off at 08:00 on the Friday and Saturday Foursomes and Fourballs.
Times I will never forget and cherish forever 👌

Outstounding - made so by Iona NOT making it about her (unlike many “presenters” these days) but letting the guys speak and keeping the flow… she is exceptional and made this one of the best golf discussion videos I’ve ever seen…

That was absolute class. Well done Iona for facilitating that. 4 absolute juggernauts of the sport sat there with one sat over watching. ⛳

That was great. I actually just wanted to have a look what this is and thought : “1,5 hours, that is long” , and 1,5 hours later : “ Oh no, it’s over”

One of the best golf things I’ve watched. Absolutely captivating. The players really opening up, sensational. The friendships look genuine. What a group.
It also goes without saying how amazing Iona is. The way she’s managed them, is next level presenting. The smile and awe she has for them as well, brilliant. Well done DP tour. Well done legends. Well done Iona.

My face is aching so much because I smiled throughout this. 😊.
Just magic. I'll never forget my time watching golf in the 80's and 90's. Even now these 5 players are still my favourite player's.
Thank-you Seve, Bernard, Sandy, Ian and Nick.
❤
I hope after some players watching this that Sir Nick and Darren Clarke kiss and make up. 🤗
