  I remember at church camp back when I was 16 we were playing this in the dorms and one of the counselors came in and told us we couldn&apos;t listen to it. I told him to take it and listen to it and come back and tell me we couldnt listen to it. He came back the next morning and handed the tape back and said we could listen to it. I&apos;ll never forget this.

  According to James Hetfield, the inspiration for the song was the movie The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston. They were watching the scene where the first born die. Cliff Burton turned and went, &quot;Whoa, Creeping Death&quot;

  Creeping Death was written by Cliff Burton (RIP) as he was a big fan of the 10 commandments movie featuring Charleston Heston.
