The scene on the kitchen floor, clawing at the laminate, is right out of his life. All the depictions of pain are right out of his life. The music is relentless, as was his pain. He is an absolute master. Now watch Power & Uninvited. And do not miss The Big Push.

Thanks for returning to Ren. He wrote a lot of introspective songs around that time to help exorcise the previous 13 years, but he has also released plenty of happier songs (covers and originals). Recent collaborations with Chris Webby and the Skinner Brothers have both resulted in albums full of an eclectic mix of Rock, Rap, Drum and Bass and every other genre you can think of. His 'Tales' series started with a couple of acoustic story songs, but have expanded into an ongoing universe of characters. I would not want/expect you to cover loads of Ren on this channel but I think you would enjoy exploring his catalogue personally if time allowed.

  ❤❤❤ BANGER ❤❤❤

Hope you dive down the rabbit hole - literally hundreds of excellent songs and performances in many genres to surprise you.

He does it all so depending on your mood you can choose Rens solo stuff, with the band he is paet of The Big Push, or one of his collabs.
He does rap, rock, jazz, soulful singing, 3 part harmonies, incredible collabs, etc.

He is an amazing artist.

He was on & off bedridden through most of his 20s. Still has had health dips over the last years and more treatments; fans are patient and try to be supportive when he does.
He is constantly striving to make his music when feeling good.
His output is prolific and vast because he must work like a beast when well, knowing a health crash can happen at any time.

For rock you need the band Ren is part of, The Big Push. Sympathy For The Devil, Heroes, at Brighton Dome for covers. All My Heroes for their original rock composition, the same night at Brighton Dome.
Ren in Red braces (suspenders) busking with The Big Push for blues, Wade In The Water/Nina Simone/Troubles So Hard. My favourite mashup of theirs, What Kind Of Woman Is This, a mix of Buddy Guy., Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters.

Great to see you back on the Ren Train again Nick. My second favourite song on the Sick Boi Album. Clawing at the Laminate is covered in Chapter 6 of his Chapters. Forensic = For Ren Sick. Mark Chapman shot John Lennon, he was angered when Lennon said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Urukai Master Plan is a LOTR reference. Yes, Ian Dury had Polio.

Ren on the kichen floor in agony is him remembering the day he fell into psychosis for 3-4 months when he was 25. He had a massive immune reaction to a new treatment attempt. Resulted in such pain and despair. He was already 6 years into his illness. He says 25 was the worst year of his life. He talks in detail about it in his 8 Chapyers on his second channel renmakesstuff.
Powerful content to react to when you are up for it.
Ren takes piles of pills and adjacent therapies that allow him to function much better, but still deals with symptoms every day.
Btw, Hi Ren is a stand alone track, not on an album. After 2 songs like this, you deserve POWER.
Its a Ren and Renegade favorite.
The Welsh bit was meant to be a eulogy for himself. It was layered to be like a choir. When the strings come in, i get goosebumps.

  Great reaction Nick 👍❤
- Ren has a Rap God video as well: youtu.be/Drc9tqnie-4
- He was born in 1990 and has a funny track about that year as well: youtu.be/J2H7wDR9eTU
- Whenever Ren sings or raps about body bags, I always think of it as part of his trauma. He was traumatized when his best friend Joe took his own life; on top of that, Ren had to verify whether a body found in the water was Joe’s. Ren was twenty at the time. Check out Ren's autobiographical readings in eight chapters to learn more about that story: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcwKtlXXD6ayghYa5PQN6SFrP1S0HEtKz
- The number 13 is often regarded as a magical number representing a wide variety of things. Among other things, it can symbolize breaking a cycle, letting go of old patterns, and choosing a new path. Depending on the culture or tradition, 13 can signify either good luck or bad luck.

- Regarding "pain is a gift boy" check out his video "One Million Subscribers - Defining Success" where he talks about it: youtu.be/0GeheniEoNg
- Ren spent 18 months in Calgary undergoing various treatments, yet he remains constantly affected by his medical conditions. For instance, he had to halt filming on "Vincent's Tale - Starry Night" because his immune system attacked his optic nerve, causing blindness in one eye. Check out the BTS videos titled "Prisoners Round" -but only after you’ve reacted to "Starry Night" and the preceding videos 😉
- What I always find remarkable about Ren is that he is aware that he profits from his afflictions and that he is part of the system he criticizes.

And a few more details:
- Probably the most autobiographical lyrically dense song by Ren.
- The lines "I lay broken on the kitchen floor. I clawed at the laminate..." at the beginning describe what really happend to Ren after a certain treatment catastrophically went wrong. He describes it in Chapter 6 of his autobiographical readings: youtu.be/ht1mqar8sq8.
- "God tied a noose to his neck and he walked to the edge and he jumped" was supposedly something Ren saw during his psychosis.
- And 'Stones and Stick' is a children's rhyme against verbal bullying: "Sticks and stones may break my bones. But words shall never hurt me." Interestingly the original stones and sticks rhyme actually had the opposite meaning (thanks to @cbarker8580 for telling me).The first line of the poem being "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can also hurt me. stones and sticks break only skin while words are ghosts that haunt me."
- Do you know the tragic background of Clapton's song 'Tears in heaven'? He wrote it after his four-year-old son Conor, fell out of a window and died in 1991.
- 'forensics' could be read as 'For Ren's sick'
- "Sinnerman, sinnerman, irony could kill a man" could be a reference to Nina Simone's song of the same name.
- And finally: Ren is by far not half a man! He is for sure one of the greatest of the century.
