"I mean, three days out of the month I'm not much fun to be around either." -- Willow, to her werewolf boyfriend Oz, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"

When I was a kid I was super into werewolves. Once, I was at my grandparents' house reading a library book about the folklore of werewolves and came across a bit saying that some beliefs said that a person banned from a church by the priest would become a werewolf.

Now my grandpa was a southern Baptist preacher which in my head was essentially the same thing, so I asked him to ban me from his church so I could become a werewolf but he said no.

22:39 I want to emphasize how much breaking vows in Norse culture was a HUGE deal and would lead to disastrous consequences.
So the dad's reaction isn't as over the top as it might seem.

Your work is captivating—not just for the chilling allure of the werewolf you bring to life, but for the sheer 'scholarly precision' behind it. The way you weave together obscure folklore, linguistic nuances from forgotten dialects, and cultural rituals most have never heard of… it’s like watching a historian and a mythologist collaborate to resurrect a legend. What truly stands out is how you don’t just tell the story—you excavate it, layer by layer, until the character feels alive in a way that’s both unsettling and profound. It’s rare to see someone merge creativity with such rigorous, cross-cultural research. That is a dedication to authenticity.

Re the outro, we know that even Hobbits told horror stories and shared eerie folklore with one another -- enough that Aragorn made fun of Merry and Pippin for forgetting that trolls turn to stone in sunlight, and that Frodo was able to recognize the lair of a barrow-wight after only a little observation and while under extremely high stress. So I for one think it works.

Jess a musical group I know you would like is "Heilung". Their genre is often called amplified history. The group is made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Iron Age and Viking Age.

Jess, I paused this video to read The Wife's Story, continued the video, then paused it again to watch both Ginger Snaps 2 and 3 so the few minutes of the video wouldn't spoil the movies for me, then continued til the end. Fantastic video. Thank you.
