  Honestly Molly's monolouge when seeing a unicorn is the best part of the film.

  I think the unicorn being trapped in the sea is supposed to be a symbolic representation of sea foam and charging waves, always making it to the shore, then retreating to the sea.

  The unicorns are easily mistaken for the ocean foam, so it's the perfect place to hide them.

  The book explains things way better. The movie cut out like, half the castle/Red Bull plot .<br>As for the three tiddy Harpy...They usually are presented like that in mythology. Same with the Unicorns in the sea, I think they&apos;re generally associated with Poseidon.

  I love Schmendrick’s backstory in the book. He’s a terrible wizard not because his magic is weak, but because it’s so powerful not even the greatest wizard of the time could help him control it. So, he turned Schmendrick immortal so he could have all the time in the world to learn. At the end Schmedrick finally becomes mortal.

  Fun Fact about Molly: Her backstory in the book is that she was a princess and was in an arranged marriage. But before she could marry, she had to sing into the woods and summon a unicorn to prove her virginity. However she had already lost it but tried anyway. When no unicorn appeared, it became clear she was no longer pure and the prince would no longer take her so she was casted out by her father.
