I have a Birkin , love it and well made. I also have about 24 Dooney & Bourke bags. I will say that these bags are of high quality leather, equestrian hardware. Some of them are over 25 years old, kept in dust bags. There are a few well made designer brands that are worth buying.

Some of my best bags are by Aspinall. Beautifully made, interesting English design. Robust and a fab range of colours. Also love my Anya Hindmarch

The average person can't just walk into Hermes and buy a birkin. So the resale value remains the same / higher because access is limited in the actual store.

Chanel. Lamb skin gold hardware I keep it in it’s sleeper bag and Bo. When it used. Clean periodically with leather Cleaner 20 years ago. Have been offered 2 x what I paid for it. The double flap lamb skin bag is iconic

Another great Spanish brand is Lodis. I bought a wallet many years ago and there is not one scratch on it now. I tripped over it at TJMaxx and was blown away.

Purchased an LV ripped in 2 weeks, the staff was horrendous, went to 2 court houses. Cameras & witnesses told the truth, the staph 🤥 lied. LV is NOT luxury. A few friends had similar experiences. Tell that to Mr. B

I have 2 small Longchamp pliage rucksacks. I have had them for years: different colours to match different outfits. They are fantastic and yes, they could be a little cheaper, but they really really last. Even nylon has different grades of quality, and I can clean them to looking nearly new. The leather part is very sturdy.

I have two leather handbags from Bree. One is just under 30 years old, the other 12. <br> <br>Both have developed a bit of a patina, of course, but that’s the only change. The leather still feels soft yet sturdy. No loose stitches or anything like that. <br> <br>The bags cost a maximum of 400 euros.
