Imagine being born into a family, living all your childhood there and maybe beyond and when your parents die a third party interloper comes and says you have to pay them in order to “inherit” the house which is basically yours now!? Racket !

Going back one-step, some people have to pay for care homes and sell the house to fund it... This is also awful, care homes charge eye-watering money, pay staff min. wage and make massive profits, why is the government allowing these crazy prices?

Everybody has a problem in UK with inheritance tax except royal family that has 32 palaces, stately homes ,castles , cottages and so on. Is this Justice @?

The thing you’re not mentioning is what it’s actually like to go through this—something I hope you never have to experience. Both of my surviving grandparents developed Alzheimer’s and dementia, and they each had to go into a care home. Even the cheapest options in our area were around £4,000 a month. That’s at least £40,000 a year, which quickly drains their savings and estate, because families are often forced to sell the family home to cover the costs.<br>My mum’s dad spent his whole life talking about leaving the home she grew up in to her, but in the end it had to be sold just to pay for a few years of care. Situations like this hit middle-class families the hardest.

My Scottish mate 'married' his son, never poked him none of that nonsense, but a legal way of leaving his 'spouse' his house without any tax crap and HMRC can do one.

So let me get this right. You get worried about giving your house to your child because if the fear they will gable it away in Vegas but you will give the 500k <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I_4cpXvSUI&t=325">5:25</a> worth of debt and expect them to manage it an this estate you set up! Sounds complicated and not workable.. most people watching this video are not millionaires and if you look at earnings if people including savings you will know most people are struggling, so if they manage to even have a house that they could pass down to family? That’s pretty much all they have.
