When you see a giant truck and a procession of kids in masks with a dead dog pass your new dream house, it’s time to pack up the kids and move back to Boston.

In the book, the burial ground is kind of similar to the Overlook Hotel from The Shining-- a quasi--sentient place that draws power from the tragedies that have happened there. Likewise, Rachel's visions of her dead sister are in line with the auditory hallucinations Jack hears of his dead abusive father, starting as just recollections of guilt (Jack lamenting that he turned into a mean drunk just like him, Rachel's guilt over her disgust and fear of Zelda's condition) and slowly escalating as the books continue until both are driven to their breaking points.

Rewatching the original’s Kill Count for those clips of Church getting tucked into bed directly after this podcast.

 Probably already brought up but...

In the novel it was the Micmac burial ground, however after the bodies of cannibals or those who had been cannibalized were buried there it turned sour/was cursed by the Wendigo and they abandoned it.

My biggest gripe on the new Pet Semetary is the relationship between Louis and Jud. In the book they have a father/ son bond, and its the best part of the story. It gives it such heart. In the new movie they are bitter and cold towards eachother and the picture suffers because of it.

Chelsea had a lot of great points. I think focusing on Jud would be an interesting perspective.
