It’s evident by the comments that a lot of you guys are new here and don’t know much about me.

I’m learning this stuff as I go, and I’m far from a professional, but I do everything 100% to the best of my ability, with the best of intentions.

I never once stated that I was going to leave this car as is. As a matter of fact, I stated in the video that I was going to contact the owner to see what he wanted to do. And a new paint kit has been ordered to fix it.

I’ll stand by my opinion that this paint is absolutely useless for someone in our area. Agree or not, in Florida, this won’t work at all unless you were to use it in about a 30 day window in January.

Anyway. Thanks for watching. I’ll drop the video fixing this thing next week.

The heat was probably your enemy! Lacquer flashes so fast and with the heat it never had a chance to flow out.

That's why Henry Ford only used black lacure because it dried so fast to increase production

I was taught "do a test panel" had you reversed your process and painted the Spoiler first, you would have spotted the issue and likely made the same adjustments before moving to the body. At that point, the Spoiler is small and wouldn't take much material and time to block out and repair.

As a retired professional painter, I tried this paint when it first came out with the same result so I literally had anxiety watching this video knowing what you’re about to go through 100% exactly how I thought it would end up. One thing I will add is make sure you seal the entire car with a urethane sealer before you try to put urethane base coat on top of that lacquer because the urethane reducer will react with that lacquer and causes it to fry. It may not do it all over the car, but wherever there’s all heavy amount of solvent, it will do it. Good luck.

You're a natural in front of the camera. Your enthusiasm to start a project at midnight after a busy day is mind boggling 😂 but awesome. Subbed👍🏼

I've had great results with lacquer. Painted my first car in 1982, it buffed beautifully. I use it on kitchen cabinets and butcher block countertops.
It definitely dries too fast if the substrate and booth temp are elevated.

I'm a simple man, I see a Coop video, I hit like. Also, Brother, I want to say that you inspire me to want to paint my own vehicles. Post it all, the good, the bad and the learning experiences. It helps those of us that have also never done it before. God Bless!

I had the same issue a few years ago when I painted my trailer with the green. Good thing it was for my landscape business.

You can see it flashing as you are painting it. Sand it and throw a few good coats of some other clear

I used that to paint a white hood once. Did the exact same thing
