I've now seen LOADS of videos telling me the same thing. What I need is videos SHOWING exact isometrics for specific tendons. No more "why", just show me WHAT

BAAR is incredible. Wish I had found out about his research years and years ago.

Some great information here, thanks 👏

The older I get the more you I've realised how key it is to maintain healthy joints and tendons. A change that I made recently that has helped me is to replace the final set of my weight training exercises with a longer isometric (30 to 45 seconds).

For example instead of doing something like:
Set 1 - 10 reps x 100kg
Set 2 - 9 reps x 100kg
Set 3 - 8 reps x 100kg

I'll do
Set 1 - 10 reps x 100kg
Set 2 - 9 reps x 100kg
Set 3 - 30 second Isometric (maybe yielding isometric at 100kg or using something like a rack or yoga strap to do an overcoming isometric)

That last point about the mice was amazing. Of course! A lifestyle of repeat mixed use and unpredictability will cause better adaptations than forced grind. 53:24

The questions and logic path being explored around the 48:00 mark is something that I again, highly recommend, diving into what the Functional Range Systems and Absolute Sport Science guys have constructed and tested for almost a decade at this point related to a tissue specific approach for each joint, a programming set of heuristics to adapt to any need of any level of athlete, and something that doesn’t really require complex or complicated equipment or measurement capabilities. I appreciate the depth and transparency here.

I’ve trained clients over the last 4 years using primarily overcoming isometrics. I have clients do a short treadmill walk in the middle of an isometric workout to decompress, similar to Nsima using rope flow and legs swings.
