You didn't mention Ford's other mechanical disaster, the EcoBoost wet belt engine.

America is leaving Europe not only in automotive, but in every field. Willingly or unwillingly.

Ford is literally dead in India, Europe, Australia, and Russia. No more local Ford vehicles. No more Fiesta, no Focus, no Falcon, no Territory, no B-Max, no C-Max, no S-Max, no Mondeo, no Figo, no KA, and no EcoSport.

I had 3 Fiestas. Three years ago I went into a dealership to order my next and the salesman said that Ford were not taking any more orders for Fiesta or Focus. I went and bought something similar from Mazda

I'm in UK, my son has a 2016 Fiesta ST, lovely car.. The Eco Boost Wet belt Engines were the worst thing they ever did. the stupidest idea anyone could have thought of, And now they've announced that they're bringing the fiesta back, but it's all electric, and because the got rid of the original fiesta machinery, it's being based on the Renault 5 Ev.

I could have understood cutting the Mondeo, it was getting old and sedans aren't selling as much as they used to, but the Fiesta and Focus make absolutely no sense. Those were their bread and butter cars. They only needed to give them a mild facelift, fix the glaring mechanical issues and they could have sold them for another 5-10 years without developing new platforms. It's a sad state of affairs.

No doubt the executives still got their bonuses though. That's the important thing.

The sad thing is my focus active x estate , with a proper auto 8 speed box and 1.5 diesel engine was probably one of fords best cars and at last fully equipped with everything you could ever want , with nearly 70k trouble free miles, it’s efficient, handles well and cheap to maintain and Tax but sadly just as they got it right they just stopped, this will be my last of along run of fords as they no longer make anything I want or desire.

My dad's company Mondeo was a really nice ride about 20 years ago. I don't know what happened to it when it got replaced with a brand new Toyota Avensis, but that Avensis had one major failure after about 200000km , that was cheaper to fix than the headlight that got broken. It was the starter motor's brushes got worn out.

I worked for Ford Europe for 20 years. I am known as one of those people who, if you cut off my hand, it will bleed blue and show a Ford logo on the stump! Sadly, I chose to leave Ford some years back because I did not agree with all the top level management decisions, especially how they are made. I worked in Product Development and it became such a soul destroying place to work in. All our hard work undermined by incompetent top level management. There is nothing quite like working in a place that destroys human values and dedication.
