I am curious how you keep your homes warm during the Sabbath. I am thinking of my own forced-air furnace here in Minnesota. It has an automatic igniter and natural gas, which sounds like fire to me. Keeping a fireplace burning is a lot more work so I am trying to imagine how you keep your homes warm on brutally cold days.
