  My family had to have help from the church because of a couple layoffs.<br>Right before my husband was able to find work - our bishop told us that through working with us through that difficult time - he used to think that teaching a man to fish was more important than giving a man a fish - but now he can see that sometimes a man needs someone to give him a fish - just so he knows that someone cares - then he can have the opportunity to learn how to fish. <br>He helped us to know that we were cared about - then he guided us through the changes we needed to make.<br>If we had chosen not to change - then help was removed - that would be on our shoulders.<br>If God is willing to give me a blessing - I am responsible to be obedient to the laws attached to that blessing.<br>- my thoughts

  People don’t think of the value of saving money or investing it. I want the church to save and spend wisely.

  Back in the 1950s a lady from our ward lost her husband. She had small children. She was a hairdresser but couldn’t take care of her kids and go to work at a beauty shop so I don’t know if maybe the steak also helped I don’t know, but people got together, and they bought the lumber and all of the stuff to build on another little room under her house and build her a Beauty shop so she could work from home. Part of her gratitude was doing perms, etc., for members who didn’t have the money but needed to look nice to get a job or girls that didn’t have the money to do their hair so that they could go to camp and look nice not be ostracized by those who didn’t know better lol she would do their hair for free. Do haircuts and stuff for free it all worked out for everyone, she made a living at home and could take care of her children. I have seen many miracles throughout my life a few big ones and a whole massive little ones that I don’t even think about at the time. There was a time that I was not living the gospel and those times were very bleak and dark for me, but as I grew, and started living the gospel, living the law of tithing and fast offerings and helping others. I saw so many miracles in my own life even just little ones like an inner thought to change lanes and then a stronger thought telling me to stay in that lane just to have a truck come flying by me and crash into a car that would’ve been ahead of me, I would have been had. I moved into that lane and I might have been injured more than the others because I would’ve been closer. I often wonder when I pass my turn and have to go somewhere else and then I go back and see that there was an accident. I always wonder have I not missed that turn I have been that accident those little things mount up and as I got enough faith, I always knew the truth. I always knew the gospel was true even when I wasn’t living it, but now living it tidying and fast offerings. I never miss that money we father provides for me even before I started living it. I feel he knew my heart and he knew, the last state of my heart and my mind and blessed me even before knowing that I believed in the gospel, thank you so much. We are so blessed to have access to programs like this and all of the programs that are put out by other faithful latter-day Saints.❤

  As a Catholic, I’m a fond of Mormons. I think they do live for Christ despite the view of many. I believe Mormons are closer to Christ than Protestants.

  The church was in such bad financial shape up until the 1960s. The fact we became this successful this quick is miraculous.

  Tithing has blessed me my whole life but especially in the last 10 years. &nbsp;When we lost our business due to the economic crash of 2008, we never once went without our basic needs being met as a result of prioritizing tithing. &nbsp;We have been spiritually (and materially) blessed beyond measure. &nbsp;It is a true blessing to build Christ’s kingdom.

  I remember when Elder Eyrings stipend was leaked. I remember being shocked that I made more than he did. He leads a multi billion dollar organization and I am a guy in HR… It was pretty faith affirming. Another reason the stipend is needed is so those that don’t have means can still serve in those callings. If we didn’t have that, only those that have strong retirements or have independent wealth could serve in that capacity. So love it.
