  Mobile mechanic work is a grind. Most customers expect the same speed as if the car was on a lift in a shop full of tools, you can only carry so much of your shop

  Solid video Brody🤘🏼, did my fair share of clutch jobs with subframe removals mobile. Spot on with the maintenance work would add Battery Swaps, Alternators, Starters and General No Start scenarios being your main source of revenue. I’m happy to say that after 4 years mobile I never have to pull a transmission on my back again, was fun at the time but bench pressing transmissions just isn’t my forte anymore while it’s honest work, fun and pays well it definitely has its risks.

  I&apos;ve been working as a mobile mechanic for the last few years. I started out doing nothing but private individuals cars. But as my business grew and my reputation expanded. I now have two electric companies that I maintain their fleets for as well as random customers. Be fair and honest and you&apos;ll do well.

  Myself and a friend once changed the clutch in my 65 Mustang with basic hand tools and NO JACK STANDS in an apartment driveway. &nbsp;We were highly motivated because we wanted to go night clubbing that night!

  Tekmetric is where it’s at not jobber.( just my opinion) Jobber is not made for mobile mechanics it’s made for other industries. Like landscaping or contractors. Now most everything else you mentioned is spot on when owning a mobile service. &nbsp;Been doing mobile for a long time and we have helped lots of mobile guys get in business the right way. Legal insured and charging correctly. Teaching them how to wear all those hats. Good video!

  Book time is definitely the way to go. 10 years ago we were at $65/hr, 5yrs ago at $95/hr, and now we’re at $125 an hour. Get better at your work and you can get the job done faster to bump that hourly. Keep parts cost mark ups low to pass that savings to your customers.

  You made a great point. Really have to be selective in the work that gets done. Every vehicle is different. It&apos;s okay to decline jobs that will simply not make financial sense, or risky, especially in the rust belt. <br><br>My philosophy is this, I&apos;ll aak the customer what is it that needs to get done, and what year, make, and model the vehicle is. If I&apos;ve already worked on it, easy money, if not, I&apos;ll get back to them and do my research. If it&apos;s doable or not, I&apos;ll let them know. Remember, as a DIY, I&apos;m looking for videos or further info online because purchasing a service manual on every car just isn&apos;t feasible. <br><br>In my mind, depending on the vehicle, I&apos;ll do tune ups, front end suspension, brakes &amp; rotors, and that&apos;s just about it. <br><br>Have to be very selective. Easy maintenence work.

  I&apos;m just a DIY mechanic. Your snowstorm Mobile job sounds like hell. I would think that Book Time would be much different in real time in the rust belt compared to the sun belt. I&apos;m in upstate NY and I compare my actual repairs to the YouTube videos of the same repairs in a warm state and there&apos;s no comparison. The parts do not come off that easy in the rust belt.
