Waylon was everything. My team and I had the privilege and pleasure of working with him on occasion. Whether it may be scratch tracks, publisher demos, or whatever it may be, he knew what he wanted and if you didn't get it right, he wouldn't call you back. He could be testy at times but all in all, he was a great talent and a great guy. One of the best story tellers that I have ever ran across. Miss you, Waylon.

Wow! I never knew most of thes things. What a guy. I'm very glad he asked Christ into his life before he passed, and I bless Jessi for asking him to. Thank you.

I'm 54 and grew up listening to ' Waylon, Willie and the boys. ' My Daddy loved Waylon and reminds me of him in so many ways. He lived the life of so many songs.

Waylon could walk on stage and you could feel the electricity run through the room. He was The Best.

My mom dated Buddy Holly in HS and Waylon was the DJ in her hometown.

So...about 20 years back, I went to visit a friend in N Scottsdale I hadn't seen in a year. He wasn't home, so I thought he might be at his dad's about a mile away. Went down to his dad's place; and thought "Um, he put up a wall around the property. Rang the bell at the entrance gate; no response. Well, my friends dad and I were were also friends... climbed the gate to ring the front door... no answer. Went around back in case to see if they were relaxing outside...nope. Looked in the back window; other than a motorcycle prominently on display in the center of the great room, I recognized the large dining table. About that time an attractive older woman came out the back door asking if she could help... I said "Well, you're not Fred's wife". She laughed and said "No, I bought the house from Fred several months back". I apologized for trespassing, and asked if I should expect the police...she laughed and said "No". We introduced each other and talked for several minutes... she kept the large dining tale on purchase, and the motorcycle was her late husbands. I left thinking "What a super nice person". Went back to my friends place; he had returned. I said "I went down to your dad's looking for you:... he said "My dad sold it", I said "I know now; I trespassed, and the owner; Jessi, greeted me... thankfully she didn't call the police". My friend then filled me in that it was Jessi Colter. I think the bike she had on display was what I later realized was the bike Buddy Holly had given. I'm not a big CW fan; but my sisters and mother are; they got a "kick" out of my encounter.

There will never be another. Authenticity at its finest. Love him or hate him, he was always himself and original. He never changed to fit a mold.
