Hi Laura. Those are not candle-sticks. They are for flower arrangements... the set is called a clock-garniture. Probably French and from the 1920s. We used to find them for around 50 dollars here in Ireland. I love them too.

Laura… the sushi plate pattern is a version of the kanji Fuku  福　which means good fortune.  You need to rotate it so the cream border is on the left …. then the kanji will be the right way up.

I'd re-mat the lion painting with a dark charcoal mat. The bamboo style frame looks good on it....

The plate with the repetitive stamping is actually a Chinese character which means good fortune. Turn it 90 degrees clockwise to make the word upright. 福
