  It's amazing what you've created in 5 years.  It looked like you started with a mostly blank slate and little privacy and turned it into a gorgeous gem of a landscape with so many cozy garden rooms and plenty of private spaces.

  I’m at year three! I battled ivy and ‘yuck’ removal the first year, but your wonderful garden makes me feel like I am on the right garden path…😂

  Beautiful garden! I just planted a redbud. Virginia creeper is an invasive weed in my area in NW PA and in other states ( as related from friends). It winds into my hedge, climbs trees and is everywhere unless I’m on top of it. Comes back every year from my neighbor’s side.

  Hi Lori🙋‍♀️ I have a Redbud tree that I bought as a very small tree and paid less than $20 for it about ten years ago, it didnt bloom much in the first nine years but this spring it was glorious! I was very pleased but wouldn’t you know it that starting in June it began dropping its leaves and I don’t know what’s wrong with it. I’ll wait until next spring to see how it does, I’ve always wanted one and I am so bummed it’s not doing well. Years ago I planted a Forest Pansy Redbud in memory of my father in law , we had it staked for the first year and the day after we removed the stakes we had very high winds and it snapped! That made me so sad I shed a few tears 😞 I guess I’m not meant to haveRedbud trees trees🤷‍♀️ I have the the pink Chiffon Rose of Sharon &nbsp;from &nbsp;PW and mine makes many babies! I don’t know how PW can say it doesn’t seed itself around because every year it does😆 I don’t really mind that much because it means more Pink Chiffon and I think they’re lovely. I now have three of them. &nbsp;I live on 5.5 acres so there’s plenty of room to plant them around the property 😀

  This may seem like a very silly question but as I&apos;m so new to gardening (1st year!) I wonder about how adding trees will affect other long lived perennials in your garden as they create increasing amounts of shade? I&apos;m thinking about sun loving perennials like roses, peonies, panicle hydrangeas, ect. Right now I&apos;m focusing on cut flower gardening &amp; though I love shade for myself, living in a yard that is 80% heavily shaded by massive willow oaks, I find it really limits what I can grow which I find frustrating.
