If Megalodon still existed we would definitely know about it since a massive predator like that would require massive pray which only exists at relatively shallow depths. There simply wouldn't be enough food of a large enough size deeper down in the oceans. There's no way we wouldn't have spotted at least one if they were still prowling and feeding in our coastal waters.

New research from Schwenk et al. (2026) showed the megalodon used zinc to reinforce the high stress areas of its teeth, which adds another pretty cool piece to the puzzle

The Mariana trench theory was from book's author Steve Alten, who had similar stories made up like with the Loch Ness monster, the movie came way later!!

Great video. My grandma actually found the most complete set of Meg teeth ever found in a phosphate mine in eastern North Carolina in the early 90’s. The set is currently on display in the Raleigh museum of natural sciences.🍋🍋
