The greatest thing he could do for the church is to explain how he was able to continue in such sin as he was preaching and teaching to others. Many do not see how he was able to compartmentalize his life this way if he was at all as close to the Lord as he appeared to be.<br>Transparency about this would inform those who are fooling themselves in a similar situation.

For me it is to coincidental that this breaks the same day as the Robert Morris case. &nbsp;I too believe in forgiveness but this has been going on for so long with sooooo many churches right now that at 83 years old it just seems Do the Sin, repent and all is well. &nbsp; As a cancer patient I can hardly wait to meet Jesus.

None is righteous, no not one. This is why I tell my kids to never put too much faith in any person. We will all fail at some point. God is merciful to his children. All glory be to God!

This is actually encouraging. &nbsp;People sin, even strong Christian leaders, but sincere repentance shows that God continues to work in the life of a true believer. &nbsp; Our job is to believe that God changes hearts. &nbsp; He appears sincere and if he is not, God can change that too. &nbsp;I would be shocked if he ever tried to be in pastoral ministry again. &nbsp; He knows that he is disqualified.

It is impossible to know how genuine this is given how he preached the Word so seemingly sincerely whilst hardening his heart and living in persistent, unrepentant sin. Clearly he is highly skilled at presenting as genuine whilst not being so. However I sincerely pray it is and that he is restored to the body of Christ and his marriage and family. 🙏

What grace from you and your subs. Steve Lawson needed time, and in this world, when we want instant answers, it’s not always God’s way. Restoration isn’t an Instagram moment. &nbsp;😊

Great overview of this. I greatly enjoyed Steve Lawson. I was constantly sending out his sermons and teachings to others. I really loved learning from him. Not being that long saved ...l was shocked to hear what happened. Probably what hurt most was of course the deception, and hearing that he only came forth because her father threatened him. Hopeful that he was truly a Born Again believer and is real repentance. But like you said hes not qualified to be back in ministry. God Bless. 📖🙏

This does sound like authentic repentance. While I recognize that it&apos;s difficult to cover every base that the public might expect, I would have liked to see an explicit acknowledgement that he is disqualified from the pulpit. That would have elevated this statement to a model for others caught in scandal.

He may be forgiven, but trust may be a long time coming.

Grace and mercy are to lead us to repentance, not a get-out-of-jail-free card. Grace is not permission TO sin, mercy is not excuse FOR sin, and forgiveness is not REPLACEMENT FOR ACCOUNTABILITY. If he’s sincere, he’ll remove himself from serving in ministry , he’s disqualified.

Steve is a calculated individual, who continued to teach while in gross sin. He came off as arrogant to me, I tried to listen to him but something seemed off. I&apos;m not saying his repentance isn&apos;t genuine but the statement doesnt prove much, he just ticks all the boxes as you would expect. Only God and Steve truly know.
