This episode brings a whole new meaning to “Take you back to the past”.

I won't lie, the thumbnail made me think it was a legit old episode that I had somehow missed in the past 15 years! Glad to see 201 starting with a classic nerd feeling! Hope it continues!

I love the thumbnail. Such a nice homage to the older thumbnails before getting changed into generic YouTube ones.

9:56- I love how one of the Ninja’s main attacks is to repeatedly kick his opponent in the nuts, sending his opponent to the ground in the fetal position. Probably one of the most realistic things about this game.

 2:40
I LOVE this little detail of AVGN saying “all over again” at the end of two sentences back-to-back. That’s an insane callback to the early days of these videos.

That fake lost episode at the beginning was actually pretty convincing lol, especially with the Mike Matei drawing in the thumbnail. I wouldn't mind seeing some new episodes in this style.
As for the rest, I feel like this might be a fresh start. James seems to be trying to bring back some of the classic elements, with wilder tangents, more anger and more chaos, not to mention that the lines feel more natural than the ones he did with a teleprompter, and that Mike's back. Here's hoping to more content like this.

I think it’s time to let Mike’s Title Cards be the thumbnail for the first 100 episodes.

Little known fact: real shinobi ninjas played this to strenghten their discipline and calmness. And also their puzzle solving skills

This really felt like a classic Nerd video. I haven't laughed this hard at an episode in some time. Glad to see a return to form from James.

I can’t believe The Last Ninja called itself “Game of the Year”. Clearly, The Rocketeer on SNES was the best game of 1991.

26:17 is one of the most simple but pure rage explosions and it’s beautiful.
