It would be interesting to see a kind of "rechargeable battery" that raises the weight when receiving energy, and drops the weight when asked for energy.

As others have mentioned, adding some capacitors and a flywheel + governor combo can smooth out your energy output, but I'd also like to turn you attention to a recent video by Tom Stanton in which he made a fully electromechanical bike:<br><br>Since he only had coils on one side of his magnet array, like you do, apparently adding smaller magnets in between, turned 90 degrees (with their poles pointing to each neighbouring magnet), amplifies the magnetic field on one side of the disc while weakening the other side, but you have no coils there so it doesn't matter.
