  Hello friends, this is one of the toughest docs we’ve ever covered on the channel. Feel like it’s a rollercoaster of emotions at times and that’s why we want to make it longer as there’s so much to cover and didn’t really want to leave anything out over the 4 episodes.   Women who did glamour modelling for page 3 and “lads mags” back in the day were called slags by a lot of men but if you were a woman who was against it, you would be called boring and frigid. We couldn’t win!

  The sad thing is that Katie WAS beautiful before facial surgery. Hearing her say she was ugly ugly when her beautiful daughter Princess is the image of her, it is heartbreaking as what effect will that have on Princess.

  At an ancient 34 years old, I was indeed around for page 3 and the constant sexualisation of women. It didn&apos;t feel normal to me, it made me feel very small and very unsafe. I couldn&apos;t understand why it was okay to have half-naked women everywhere, in ads and mainstream newspapers, and why it was so universally accepted. It felt like that was our only real worth. I went to an all girls&apos; school, and even as young as 12 and 13, most of us were wearing padded bras and makeup and rolling up the waistbands of our skirts to make them as short as possible, because we really felt like we were only as good as the male attention we could get - which was really dangerous. We never got to see beautiful women or powerful women to aspire to, only sexualised women.

  it&apos;s sweet that you found it surprising that men were sexualising her as a young teenager but i don&apos;t know a single woman that wasn&apos;t. It&apos;s rampant and disgusting but sadly extremely common

  When she ‘left’ her baby, he wasn’t just left alone in an empty house. It’s crazy, when you consider that many people in a similar position have their children literally raised by nannies! As far as I remember, it was her mother who looked after Harvey when Katie ‘left’ him. And as you say, Dwight had zero input, by his own choice

  older &nbsp;woman &nbsp;here, &nbsp; we hated &nbsp;Page &nbsp; 3, it &nbsp;was &nbsp;embarrassing &nbsp;and &nbsp; degrading &nbsp;to women. &nbsp; Look up &nbsp;Clare Short, &nbsp;an MP who campaigned tirelessly to get it &nbsp; banned. She &nbsp;was mocked and &nbsp;pilloried &nbsp;in &nbsp;the press &nbsp; and &nbsp;described as &quot;jealous&quot; &nbsp;because &nbsp;she &nbsp;did not look like &nbsp;a Page &nbsp; 3 &nbsp; model. &nbsp;I can &nbsp;remember &nbsp; visiting an &nbsp;infants&apos; school &nbsp; for &nbsp;a job &nbsp;I had &nbsp;at the time, &nbsp;the painting &nbsp;table &nbsp;in the classroom &nbsp;was &nbsp;protected &nbsp;by newspaper &nbsp;which &nbsp;was &nbsp;the thing &nbsp;at the time &nbsp;and &nbsp;some of the &nbsp;sheets &nbsp;had &nbsp;Page &nbsp;3 &nbsp;photos &nbsp;showing! &nbsp;I &nbsp;was horrified and &nbsp;reported &nbsp;the &nbsp;school but &nbsp;that shows &nbsp; how &nbsp;accepted it was &nbsp;back in &nbsp;the day

  71year old woman here … NO, the page 3 stuff was not acceptable. Most women boycotted buying the sun and it was down to women campaigners that eventually the sun dropped page three. It seemed that it was aimed at a certain class of men, not the finest. However, this seems to have been replaced on tv by many, many, completely uninteresting scripted reality shows in which both men and women wear virtually nothing.

  Hi Kam! Mature doughnut here. Girls being on tv in bikinis for no reason, the Sun page 3 girls and all the other misogynistic nonsense that has gone on in the press over the years never felt normal. It was cringe making, toe curling and uncomfortable for me as a child and then a teenager in the era of the Sun page 3 girl. I found it baffling. I can’t believe the Sun only stopped printing Page 3 girl pics in 2015!! Love your informed, balanced, kind and intelligent break downs. 😊
