  Make sure the alcohol you spray is either isopropyl alcohol or you can use Everclear in a pinch, but Canadian whiskey will only encourage wild moose growth.

  So a few minutes after you mentioned the ipads and phones buried in the hoard I had a horrifying realization: the batteries in these devices are prone to deteriorating in such a way that they "pillow" out and can eventually catch fire. if you have any devices with lithium batteries you should be checking them occasionally for pillowing because they pose a serious fire hazard. A hoard full of ipads is literally a time bomb

  You make so many great points. My husband & I cleaned a relatives hoarded house & garage after they died. No one was allowed to touch anything when they were alive. It took us 2 years, every weekend, because we worked during the week. We had to go through everything because there was hidden money & jewelry in the most unlikely places. It is a terrible disorder that impacts the whole family.

  I cleaned a hoarder's house while they were in the hospital. (Chill! They couldn't come home until it was done). They don't value the stuff the way most people do. They just need to possess it, they don't dust it, keep it safe, or know where it's located. It was heart breaking task. I cried a lot.

  I don't get upset about what items you throw away Mack.  I get upset that you have lulled me into a false sense of speed cleaning.  I start to clean, exactly how you do kitchens let's say, and all of a sudden what I watched you do in 15 seconds took me an hour and a half!!!!  Not fair I tell ya, not fair!!!  Love the videos!

  People complaining about you throwing seemingly valuable stuff out are missing the whole point of the video: yes! It&apos;s Midwest Magic Cleaning, not Midwest Magic Re-Selling/Upcycling/Donating.<br><br>I come here for the cleaning and decluttering and the psychology behind it. A lot of people have issues with stuff and ways to get rid of stuff and feelings of guilt around all that and I really appreciate your direct approach.

I&apos;ve only cleaned out one hoarder house, but people chastising me for not saving/donating/selling the stuff inside got old quickly. We had to wear full Hazmat in there, everything was thoroughly ruined with feces and urine from mice, cats, dogs, and yes, even humans. You could smell the house on the neighbor&apos;s property, and these are half-acre lots.
