  Thank you for your interesting and extensive coverage of the Mojave Road and my dad’s influence in preserving this iconic treasure. I hiked the road with him as a little girl, with my mom driving the camper as pit crew. I have his original hand written log book of the trip, as well as a slew of other one of a kind artifacts from the Mojave Road. I’m the treasurer of my dad’s Goffs Schoolhouse Museum, and the owner of the Springer and Zzyzx collections housed at Goffs. I spent many happy weeks at Zzyzx as a child with my parents, doing research before the desert consortium took over. I have tapes of over 75 phone interviews that my dad conducted with Dr Springer back in the early 80s. Such a fascinating story! He was not really the flim flam artist that most people portray him as. He genuinely wanted to help people. I would love to talk with you and give you more information if you would like.

  The history of the old Mojave Road is truly fascinating. It's incredible to think about the layers of history, from the ancient trade routes of the Mojave people to the dedicated efforts of Dennis Casebier to preserve it all. The story of Bert Smith and the Rock House is particularly moving. Thank you for sharing such a detailed look into this unique piece of California's past.

  In the early 90's I found Goff's , Dennis Casebier, and the wonder of the Mohave Desert. I started going to Goff's every weekend and worked on the history collection. I also started leading 4x4 historical trips. For the next several years I lead many trips over the Mojave Road and all four segments of the Mojave trail. I can honestly say that these were some of the best days of my life. There is so much history in that desert it is amazing.

  Excellent job Jeven, been across it many times and it never gets old. I met Dennis Casebier many years ago at the Essex/Kelso Museum, where they sold some of his books. Of course I really didn't know who I was talking to at the time, but I do remember him being an avid Off-Roader and telling me a few cool stories about the things he found along the Mojave Road during his travels.....

  Thank you for always being so explicit about the fact that American history started thousands of years before the US existed! So often people act like exploration of America’s wild places began with the first European visitors, when it’s obvious that the Native peoples who have lived here for so long knew very well how to flourish in these areas. I really appreciate your thoughtful and respectful approach to telling these stories!

  Dear Jeven,<br>Weather it is a technical video or geographic and historical one the clarity of your story telling is very engaging. This is a fascinating story in this video and definitely is worthwhile pursuing similar productions. <br>This single handed sailor and explorer very much will keep on watching this type of stories. I&apos;d also like to see details of how you setup your gear and meals, for example, at the end of your day run. The moments of relaxation (if briefly) and the moments where something calls your attention .<br>Thank you for this video. <br>P

  We too have spent countless trips exploring the Mojave Desert, and we Love the Mojave road. &nbsp;The sights, the History and the secrets. &nbsp;The Plaque on the rock pile is worth the trip, but be careful of the time of year, because that dry lake bed south of Baker is NOT always dry. &nbsp;But you asked about some of the other History and sights to explore. &nbsp;IN the Mojave there was a HUGE operation formed and monitored by Vanderbilt. &nbsp;Mining, homesteading and more. &nbsp;A HUGE portion of that history is not far off the Mojave road, outside a the small towns of Nipton and Searchlight. &nbsp;Years ago, I did a video series myself on the history of Vanderbilt as it was fascinating. &nbsp;In fact, if you would be interested, I would love to share what I learned through research, and perhaps even explore some of that history out there with you! &nbsp;Your videos go so much deeper than mine did, but it is an inspiration, and could be a great adventure for a couple of nights. &nbsp;Lemme know, I would love to collaborate explore some of this history with ya.
